God’s Word the Holy Bible

We believe the Bible, comprising of Old and New Testaments, is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. Through the Holy Spirit, God guided the many human authors of the scriptures, to write without error or omission. The Bible is the final authority for our faith and conduct. (Psalm 19:7-11; Matthew 5:18; Mark 13:31; 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21)

God

We believe God is the one true and living God, Creator of all things. He is omniscient (all-knowing), omnipresent (all-present), and omnipotent (all-powerful). He is perfect, holy, righteous, and sovereign (has absolute authority over all creation). He is a God of justice and love. He is immutable (unchanging) in His being and character. While God is one, He reveals Himself in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:1, 27; Psalm 147:5; Genesis 17:1; Isaiah 6:3; Daniel 4:25; Isaiah 30:18; 1 John 4:8; Malachi 3:6; Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19)

Jesus Christ

We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ. He was conceived through the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary, thus He is fully God and fully man. He lived a perfect, sinless life and all of His teachings are true. We believe Jesus Christ was crucified on the cross as a substitutionary sacrifice for all mankind taking the sin of all upon Himself. His sacrifice on the cross and shedding of His blood is sufficient for salvation to all who accept Him as Savior and that there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved. We believe in His bodily resurrection, that He ascended into heaven and now sits at the right hand of God as our High Priest and Advocate. We are now eagerly awaiting the glorious day of His imminent return, when He brings all true believers into His kingdom. (John 1:1-4, 14; Colossians 2:9-10; Matthew 1:20-21; Romans 1:1-4; Colossians 1:19-20; 1 John 3:5; John 1:29; Romans 5:8; Acts 4:12; Luke 24:1-53; Hebrews 2:11-18; Romans 8:34; John 14:1-4; 1 John 3:2; Revelation 1:7)

Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit is the divine Spirit of God. The Holy Spirit convicts man of sin and regenerates sinners. By Him all believers are baptized into the Body of Christ. The Holy Spirit indwells, teaches, comforts, guides, equips, empowers, seals, and imparts spiritual gifts to all believers enabling them to live according to Christ’s teachings and to serve and to worship God. (John 14:26, 16:5-13; Titus 3:5; 1 Corinthians 12:12-14; Romans 8:9-11; Acts 9:31; 2 Corinthians 1:21-22; Galatians 5:22-25)

Fall of Man

We believe Adam and Eve were created in the image of God. While in the garden of Eden, they chose to sin against God. Because of Adam’s disobedience, all humanity has inherited a sinful nature. Because of our sin, we are separated from God and we suffer physical death as well as spiritual death. We cannot obtain salvation by any works that we do, for we are saved only by God’s grace, as we put our faith in the sacrificial work that Jesus Christ accomplished on the cross for our behalf. (Genesis 1:27, 7-24, 3:1-24; Romans 3:23, 5:12, 6:23; I Corinthians 15:3; John 3:16; Ephesians 1:7; 2:8-9)

The Church

We believe the Church, consisting of all true believers worldwide, is one in the Body of Christ, Jesus being head over all the Church. We believe that all believers are to participate in the ordinances of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Our main purpose is to obey the Great Commission: To make disciples in all the nations, baptizing them and teaching them to observe all that Jesus commanded. (1 Corinthians 12:12-14; Colossians 1:17-18; Acts 2:41; Luke 22:14-20; 1 Corinthians 11:20-29; Matthew 28:18-20)
